Inside the world of CoCo & JJ

Two siblings, one big faith, and a whole lot of heart. Here's a closer look at the friends who lead every story.

CoCo

CoCo

9 years old

The big-hearted big sister.

CoCo is the warm, observant narrator of the K-Time series. As the oldest in the Thomas household, she takes her role as big sister to Jj seriously — packing his backpack the night before school, double-checking his shoelaces, and reminding him that being brave doesn't mean being unafraid.

She loves story-time at church, the smell of her mom's Sunday pancakes, and the way the morning sun shines through the kitchen window when Dad is praying over the day. CoCo is learning that kindness is a small superpower she can use anywhere — at the bus stop, in the lunchroom, or on the football field cheering for friends.

When she grows up, CoCo wants to be a teacher and a children's book author — just like the lady at the library who always saves her favorite books.

JJ

JJ

5 years old

The curious little brother with a giant heart.

Jj is starting kindergarten and the whole world feels brand new — the squeaky shoes on the gym floor, the tall fence around the playground, the kids he doesn't know yet. He carries a small brown football almost everywhere because Dad says holding onto something familiar can help when a day feels big.

Jj's first big lesson comes when he meets Shawn, a classmate who seems a little quieter and a little sadder than the rest. With a nudge from CoCo and a prayer from Dad, Jj learns that reaching out to a new friend is one of the bravest things a small person can do.

He laughs the loudest at silly knock-knock jokes, falls asleep mid-sentence on car rides home from church, and is convinced he will play in the NFL one day — right after he learns to tie his cleats.
